Different Types of Coffee Roast

Coffee Roast

There are many different types of coffee roast that you may consider if you are an avid coffee drinker. The different types include American, Vienna, Breakfast, French, and Espresso.

Many people recognize the roast of a coffee just by the taste because they love coffee. You can often tell the different beans and the different blends when you taste them once you become familiar with the different roasts.

The American roast coffee is not the most common blend of coffee. People who are not big coffee drinkers might often find that they drink this roast because it is sweeter than the normal roasts. This is a very light roast and mild and sweet. Some people like to drink this with a dessert.

A Vienna roast is a very good flavor and enjoyed by many people. This blend has a light to medium flavor. The name Vienna comes from the color of the bean. Most coffees that are canned are Vienna roast. When you see the gift boxes for coffee items to put underneath the white Christmas trees as gifts, they will usually be Vienna roast. This is because most people that are not avid coffee drinkers do not like a strong blend. It is common to gift coffee underneath the artificial Christmas tree that is light. Dark and heavy roasts are most commonly wasted when they are gifted under the artificial Christmas trees to people that do not know or enjoy coffee.

The breakfast or bold blended roast is one of the most popular blends. This is a fuller bodied coffee that is lighter on the acidity. It is called breakfast blend because it is perfect for the morning because of the low acidity. This is because people have a lot of acid in the morning from orange juice, syrup for pancakes, and other things. This coffee is perfect because of the low acid for people who must eat a big breakfast in the morning and have their coffee too.

The French roast is also known as a continental or a Spanish roast. The beans are oily and very rich in flavor. The coffee is dark brown. French roast is a favorite for coffee consumers who like a strong and bold blend with a lot of flavor. Many people think that adding additional scoops of their American roast will give the bold flavor. This is not true. The French roast is perfect and strong with a regular pot and usually the ideal cup for most avid coffee drinkers.

Espresso roast uses beans that are almost black and they are shiny with oil. Espresso does not have as much caffeine as other roasts on the shelves. Most people think that an espresso has a lot of caffeine but this is a myth. Espresso beans have less caffeine and they have a burnt taste because the beans are roasted longer. Some espresso lovers actually use the French beans for their espresso because the actual espresso beans make the coffee taste burnt and bitter.
